It’s time to stand up and stand on the Word of God. God’s Word is truth, and we must speak it. Even if you don’t see the fruits of your voice, God has promised His Word will not return void. “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 ESV).
When confronted with things contrary to God’s Word, we need to speak. When you speak truth, it brings light into the darkness. We speak, not out of judgment and condemnation, but out of love. We don’t need to argue or prolong a discussion if it’s not profitable, but we do need to offer light in the dark. If we truly love others with Christ’s love, then we need to share God’s Word.
Our place is not to judge, but it is our responsibility to speak the truth. We have been called. 2 Cor 5:20 says, “We are ambassadors for Christ.” Only God can convict and bring about change, but the Word must be spoken in order to be heard in order to be believed. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17 KJV).
My encouragement and challenge to you and to myself from this day forward for the rest of our lives: Be committed to speaking the truth of God’s Word because of His love.
