We all look for this one. We all desire the totally fulfilling Bible study. Is this spring’s Bible study something that sounds interesting to me? Does this one apply to my life right now? The last one was pretty good, but there was still something missing. It seems every devotional, every Bible study, every discipleship program, and every small group study has something lacking.
There might be points or statements that make us say wow or really touch our hearts, but there are always one or two things we don’t like. Maybe you don’t like the version of the Bible that is used, or maybe you don’t like the use of multiple versions. Maybe you think the author or leader interjects too much of themselves. You might think you are more knowledgeable than the teacher. This study or that study may seem boring. And maybe you are right.
We all desire the totally fulfilling Bible study. Let me ask you, “Have you found it yet?” Well, I have. I can guarantee this one. You probably already have it in your home. Open your Bible and study it. Just it. Nothing else. The only totally fulfilling Bible study is the Bible. There is nothing missing, but I can also guarantee there may be a few things you don’t like. Regardless of what you do or don’t like, you will come away totally fulfilled.
Don’t know where to start? Start with Psalm 119. It’s a long chapter, but if you truly study it, you will fall in love with the Bible. Ask God to show you where to start, but no matter what – start.
I hope to see you at a Bible study soon. Let me know which one is your favorite so far.
