Make a list of everything you can think of that you need to do today, this week, this month, and this year. Put it all on paper or on computer. You don’t have to do it all now, but this frees you up to concentrate on the task at hand. You won’t get distracted by what you may have forgotten. It’s all written down in one place.
Once you have dumped all your worries and tasks onto paper, give them to God. I’m not going to tell you to now go burn the paper you wrote them on. Instead, keep that list where you can review it each day or week so you can do what is necessary at that time. If you have a few spare minutes one day, review the list for something to do.
Ask God to guide you in prioritizing what needs to be done when, and feel free to add to the list as you think of something else. Release the worry, and be more productive. You might even find you can carve out more time alone with God.
Maybe that should be first on the list. Time with God every morning. Make a list.
