Looking for Pokemon

I don’t totally understand the Pokemon Go craze.  It’s not just for kids, but for anyone. My two adult sons have the app on their phone. A friend posted on Facebook that she downloaded the app on her phone in order to have a family activity with her kids for the weekend.

From what I have gathered, players are seeking to capture virtual creatures called Pokemon in the real world. You must physically step out into the world, but you look at the world through your phone’s display. Your phone will also vibrate with a notification when a Pokemon is close by.

What if we were seeking things above with the same tenacity of those playing this virtual reality game? How would our lives and the lives of those around us be different?

The things above are not a virtual reality but can become a true reality in our lives every day.

What if our hearts vibrated with the word within every day? It can’t if the word is not there.

What are you seeking? Pokemon? Might be fun for a day or so. Or the things above which last forever?

"Seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God" (Colossians 3:1).
