Born to Hope

Actually we aren’t really born to hope. The good news is we are born again to hope.

Born again. What’s up with that? That was the question Nicodemus asked Jesus. Jesus told him that what is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. A physical birth, and a spiritual birth. If you are reading this, you have had a physical birth. But, have you had a spiritual birth?

Why?

We are born again to a living hope. It’s a hope that is alive through the resurrection of Jesus. It’s a hope to an inheritance that won’t perish, is undefiled, and is unfading, reserved for us in heaven. You can’t make this stuff up. It’s written in 1 Peter 1:3-5.

Romans 15:13 is one of my favorite verses. It tells me.
  • God is the God of hope.
  • He fills us with all joy and peace.
  • In believing we are filled.
  • We are filled and believe, so that we can abound in hope.
  • The Holy Spirit is the power by which we abound in hope.
My prayer is for God to fill my spiritual jewelry box with hope.

Scripture tells us Jesus Christ is our hope. It tells us God is our hope. If you don’t believe in scripture, I guess you have no hope. But there IS hope for you. Your hope comes in your spiritual birth.

Jesus went on to tell Nicodemus, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16  -- This is your second birth.
